Process improvement
Take the delays and rework out of the way your fleet runs.
We map how work actually moves through your company, find the bottlenecks and redundancies, and redesign the process with the people who do the work, using Lean and Six Sigma methods sized for a small operation.
Who it’s for
- The same breakdowns, delays or paperwork errors keep coming back
- Work depends on one or two people who know how everything is done
- Costs are rising and you are not sure where the waste is
What we do
Map the current process
High-level and detailed process maps, SIPOC diagrams and value-stream maps of how work really moves: from load booking to delivery, from a defect report to a repaired truck, from an application to a qualified driver.
Find the root causes
Root-cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and simple statistical process control show where variation and waste come from, so you fix causes rather than symptoms.
Redesign and standardize
Process redesign, standardized work, 5S workplace organization and visual management, tested in short Kaizen events with the people who will run the new process.
Make it stick
Change management, train-the-trainer sessions and a short list of key performance indicators, so improvement continues after we step back.
You can’t fix a process until it has been drawn.
- 01Assess
- 02Plan
- 03Implement
- 04Monitor
What you get
- Current-state and future-state process maps
- A root-cause analysis of your top recurring problems
- Standard operating procedures and checklists for the redesigned process
- A KPI set covering quality, productivity, cycle time, cost savings and return on investment
- Training for supervisors and a trainer inside your team
What we don’t do
- We don’t hand you a binder and leave. The work is done with your team, on-site, remote or hybrid.
- We don’t publish results we can’t measure. Every improvement has a before and an after in your own numbers.
Questions
Isn’t Lean or Six Sigma only for large manufacturers?
No. The methods scale down well. For a small carrier, a two-hour mapping session and a few weeks of disciplined follow-through often reveal more than a large software project would.
What is DMAIC?
Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control: the Six Sigma method for improving an existing process. For a new process we use DMADV, which ends with Design and Verify instead.
How do you measure progress?
We agree the indicators up front, such as quality, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, productivity, completion times, cost savings and return on investment, and we report against them.
We work alongside your broker. Only the regulator assigns a rating, and only the insurer sets the premium.
