Risk assessment
Find the risks in your operation before they reach your bottom line.
Every mile carries risk, from regulation and safety compliance to equipment, finances and your reputation with customers. Our assessment looks at the whole organization, identifies the vulnerabilities and gives you actionable recommendations in order of priority.
Who it’s for
- An ISS score above 75, or a slide from green to yellow
- A recent crash, claim or failed inspection you want to understand
- Growth, a new lane or cross-border work that changes your risk
What we do
Walk the safety management cycle
We review the whole organization against the safety management cycle: policies and procedures, roles and responsibilities, qualifying and hiring, training and communication, monitoring and tracking, and the meaningful action that should follow.
Engineer the risk
We assess fleet condition, your compliance strategy and your adherence to regulations, including hours-of-service records, vehicle maintenance logs and safety policies. Every deviation is evaluated and analyzed.
Read your scores
Your documentation is measured against the standards regulators use: the FMCSA’s Safety Measurement System, Ontario’s CVOR and Québec’s PEVL. We show the result as clear graphics, with your ISS score against industry benchmarks.
Recommend and follow up
You receive recommendations in order of priority, and we help put them in place: from vehicle maintenance schedules to telematics, from driver training to the audit calendar.
Three regimes, three rating ladders: one assessment reads across all of them.

- Visual reports explaining your ISS, CVOR, PEVL and SMS components
- Year-over-year trends in inspections, violations and compliance improvements
- A prioritized list of recommendations with costs and owners
- A root-cause analysis if your scores have recently moved the wrong way
What we don’t do
- We don’t conduct the regulator’s audit or issue a rating.
- We don’t guarantee the outcome of an inspection, a facility audit or a compliance review.
Questions
What is PEVL?
PEVL is Québec’s “politique d’évaluation des propriétaires et des exploitants de véhicules lourds”, the owner-and-operator evaluation policy administered by the SAAQ and the Commission des transports du Québec (CTQ). It is the Québec counterpart of Ontario’s CVOR.
Our ISS score is high. What should we do first?
A carrier with an ISS score above 75 should look seriously at the causes behind its safety and compliance record, and a comprehensive risk assessment is the right first step. If you have moved from green to yellow, start with a root-cause analysis of the decline.
How long does an assessment take?
It depends on the size of the fleet and the state of the records. We agree the scope and timeline in writing before we start.
Will you work with our existing safety manager?
Yes. We engage every level, from dispatchers and drivers to leadership, and we work as an extension of your team.
We work alongside your broker. Only the regulator assigns a rating, and only the insurer sets the premium.
